4: How to Clean Your Headset

Tips for Success

Thoroughly clean the high touch surfaces of the headset these include:

  • Buttons and sides of the headset

  • Around the lenses (making sure not to get harsh cleaners on the actual lens itself

  • Headband

  • Face pad

  • Both controllers

  • Charging cable and wall adaptor

Do not charge the headset for 20 minutes after sterilization, to ensure no moisture is present (charging the headset while moisture is present in any of the jacks can result in damage to the headset)

Do not use disinfectant or glass cleaner on the lenses, and avoid using clothing, and other fabrics that are not clean and could have collected dust. Only use single use lens wipes or non-abrasive cloths (silk, microfiber...etc.) in combination with lens cleaning solution. Clean before and after use as salt in the sweat, oils and other fluids from your body can damage the thin coating applied to the headsets lenses, permanently causing distortions.
